ABOUT US

"Growing up in South Africa,  I was surrounded by an abundance of wildlife.  As a young boy, it was the scaley cold-blooded creatures that really caught my attention. I became obsessed and every chance I had, I was out in the veld with my make-shift snake hook searching endlessly for my next capture.  My first pet snake was a Cape House Snake which I found in my backyard. Now, nearly 25 years later this species is still an integral part of my collection. 

I started my career as a field guide for South Africa's nature reserves. It was not long after I began that my reputation as "the snake man" soon landed me a position as the curator of reptiles at a reptarium. I fell in love with the captive care and breeding of reptiles.

My interest in herpetoculture was my motivation to relocate to the USA. We moved our entire collection across the world to advance our hobby into a business. Bushveld Reptiles has been my opportunity to progress my aspirations into reality."
